This painting started with the light.

I wanted the centre to remain open and almost weightless, while everything around it became deeper, darker and more textured. I worked gradually, adding and removing layers until the movement began to feel natural rather than constructed.

There is something landscape-like in it, but I didn't paint a particular place. It can feel like mountains, a storm, water, or simply light breaking through something heavy.

The texture is an important part of this work. From a distance the painting looks soft and atmospheric. When you come closer, the surface becomes much more complex - lines, raised areas and small details begin to appear.

For me, the most interesting part is the contrast between darkness and that open light in the middle.

I don't want to explain what is beyond it. I prefer to leave that part to you.
