Into the Light is an original textured abstract painting in soft ivory, warm grey, charcoal and muted earthy tones, with subtle metallic details appearing through the darker layers.
The composition is deliberately open. Dense texture rises from both sides and meets towards the lower centre, while most of the upper canvas is left quiet and almost untouched. Two small birds are the only clearly recognisable elements.
At 90 × 70 cm, the painting has enough presence to hold its own on a wall without dominating the room. The neutral palette works particularly well with contemporary interiors in white, beige, grey, stone, natural wood and black.
The surface changes with the light. During the day the softer tones become more visible; under evening lighting, the darker texture and metallic details come forward.
