Original textured painting "Rising Earth" 150 x 80 cm is a large-scale original contemporary abstract painting by Latvian artist Jelena Kundich.
Measuring 150 × 80 cm, this unique acrylic and mixed media painting on canvas explores the energy of the earth through layered texture, mineral-inspired forms, movement and atmospheric light.
The composition develops from deep earthy passages of charcoal, umber and warm brown towards a luminous field of ivory, sand and soft beige. Sweeping textured forms rise across the canvas like geological layers shaped by pressure and time, while lighter areas create a sense of openness and expanding space.
Rather than representing a specific landscape, Rising Earth transforms elements of mountains, stone, erosion and changing light into a contemporary abstract landscape.
The landscape itself is not the subject. Human experience of the landscape is.
The painting exists between solidity and movement: dense material surfaces appear to rise, separate and dissolve into light. This contrast gives the work both physical strength and a quiet atmospheric quality.
