I have always been fascinated by mountains. There is something about them that makes everything else feel smaller and quieter.

With this painting, I didn't want to create a perfect landscape. I wanted to capture the feeling of standing in front of something powerful, silent and much bigger than yourself.

I kept the colours intentionally restrained and concentrated on texture instead. Some areas are rough and expressive, while others almost disappear into the background. Light moves across these layers differently throughout the day, so the painting never looks exactly the same.

For me, the mountain here is not only a landscape. It is about strength. About continuing upwards even when the way isn't easy. And about that quiet moment when you stop, look at how far you've already come, and realise there is still somewhere higher to go.
